Real-Time Governance and Regulation: The City as a Platform

Please join us in our first WhatNext.Law Talk on Thursday, 27 May, 12:00 – 13:00 (Lisbon time) with Sofia Ranchordás, Full Professor of European and Comparative Public Law & Rosalind Franklin Fellow, University of Groningen – Faculty of Law.

In this Talk, Sofia Ranchordás will discuss the concept of data-driven regulation and governance in the context of smart cities by describing how these urban centres harness these technologies to collect and process information about citizens, traffic, urban planning or waste production and to determine the content of local regulation and governance.

Tiago Bessa, Partner at Vieira de Almeida, and Tiago de Melo Cartaxo, Guest Professor at NOVA School of Law will comment the session and Fabrizio Esposito, Assistant Professor at NOVA School of Law, will moderate the Q&A.
