The Economics of Parking Space: A Mathematical Model (with implications for Tariff Policy)
In this paper, we present a mathematical model that attempts to demonstrate the inefficient allocation of parking space caused by the standard tariff model used in most public policy options worldwide. Corrections to the standard model are proposed, in particular to avoid the phenomenon of “bad parking”, as defined therein.
